Description

The cost of waste disposal is increasing so why not make good use of your wood dust and be environmentally friendly at the same time. There are three main reasons for making briquettes: fuel production, easier storage and ease of transportation. All of these are achieved in one safe and easy operation with a Rojek hydraulic press. Simply take your extracted wood dust and shavings, empty them into the hopper of the Briquette Maker, turn on and stand back and watch as briquettes of dust and shavings are squeezed out of the outlet. These briquettes can be produced at a rate of between 25kg/hr and 100kg/hr depending upon which model is purchased. The high capacity hopper is equipped with a material level sensor, feed cutter and a screw conveyor in the bottom of the hopper. The screw conveyor takes the material into the pressing chamber where massive hydraulic forces squeeze the waste into a solid briquette. The waste used must be dry (between 8 and 15%) as the water is not compressible and will cause the briquettes to fall apart and may damage the compression chamber. The briquettes themselves burn wonderfully giving 15-18MJ/Kg and leave a very fine ash. The briquettes themselves will be formed at 65mm diameter and anywhere between 30mm and 70mm long depending on how much waste can be pulled into the compression chamber by the feed screw. It is very pleasing to know that the fire you have in the front room or even the running the central heating system in the workshop or house is being fuelled by waste from your workshop that would previously have cost you to dispose of and also if you have enough wood waste there is no need to buy expensive logs either.
